Earth Day is April 22, 2010
What will you be doing on Earth Day?
Next week, on April 22, is Earth Day. I plan on doing somethng special for Mother Earth, I hope everyone is motivated to do something for our Beloved Planet.
I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did: http://wimp.com/amazingsights/
Some websites celebrating Earth Day:

Companies are giving back to
Companies are giving back to those who celebrate Earth Day by offering great freebies. The newest idea is Earth Day freebies 2010, where numerous companies are offering discounts or free products in conjuncture with Earth Day to try and draw business to their stores. Of course I am certain they're also trying to promote a healthier environment. Either way, with all of the criticism out there about this, I can't help but wonder why people care and get so worked up? The outcome of a business taking advantage of a holiday to try and get sales is: a lot more revenue in our economy helping to stimulate it; more revenue equals a lot more job; and they are still getting people to contribute to the environment by recycling or whatever gimmick they have going on. So how is there a down side at all?
Happy Earth Day, Pachamama!
We Love you, we Love you, we LOVE you!!!
Many Blessings to us ALL,
Amanda
Hi Becki, I wrote a song for Earth Day!
I've been working out the new song I wrote while visiting a remote beach in SB.
Today, Santa Barbara had a celebration and I worked at the music store. I was really surprised that the celebration took place so soon. On April 22nd, I can play my song at the store and who knows...perhaps I can play for the butterfly garden at home. It's a start and a lovely vibe.
Earth is a sacred holy place, let's keep it that way. k

That is so special
Kathleen, you are so cool! Can you post your song somewhere for us to hear??
Awesome for Santa Barbara....I love that city so much, almost moved there I already told you, about 10 years ago. It is such a Holy place, well I think so. :-)
Today I felt such tears of joy for Mother Earth. I read a newsletter at church where a friend had written a story about her awakening in Peru and at the end she wrote: "Here is a prayer to Mother Earth. Holy Mother, I am coming, I am on my way to Thee, to the joy of your embrace, the peace I feel when you hold me. To your wisdom I surrender willingly, ready to become all that I have come to be. Thank you, Pachamama, for your grace and for waiting patiently."
Wow. :-)
(tears again)
Blessings,
Becki
Yes Beckie, I feel such joy by this prayer
This is a great prayer and I feel the connection with her as Our Mother.
My song is titled, "Hallowed Places in the Sun"
Someday I will record it okay? This is the chorus:
Hallowed Places in the Sun
Rivers flowing We are One
Eyes behold the golden dawn,
Earth is calling to Everyone
Choices Matter Every Hour
Start with Self You Have the Power
I would love to have you visit us in SB sometime, perhaps I can sing it for you live and in person! Happy Earth Day/Week!
Much love, k

Joy is great, and that is the goal for songwriters
Robin, it is a nice little song and am thrilled that you like the energy. My voice is so delightful while playing it on guitar. That is what I keep saying anyway. I sure hope to record soon, much love, k

Some facts on Earth Day
Some facts on Earth Day:
In the United States, Earth Day is celebrated each year on April 22. The United Nations celebrates Earth Day each year on the spring equinox, which is often 20 March. This is a tradition which was founded by peace activist John McConnell in 1969. The United Nations first celebrated Earth Day on the spring equinox in 1971. This was also the first time ever that the United Nations celebrated Earth Day. The first Earth Day on the spring equinox was also in 1970.
Earth Day was first observed on April 22, 1970, when an estimated 20 million people nationwide attended the inaugural event. Senator Gaylord Nelson promoted Earth Day, calling upon students to fight for environmental causes and oppose environmental degradation with the same energy that they displayed in opposing the Vietnam War.
In July 1970, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was established in response to the growing public demand for cleaner water, air, and land—its mission to protect the environment and public health. Earth Day also was the precursor of the largest grassroots environmental movement in U.S. history and the impetus for national legislation such as the Clean Air and Clean Water acts. By the twentieth anniversary of that event, more than 200 million people in 141 countries had participated in Earth Day celebrations.

Earth Day was very special
Yesterday, on Earth Day, it was sunny in Seattle and a lovely warm 60-ish degree day. I had a friend over and I planted a beautiful dark pink rose bush in my garden and some sunflowers too. Enjoyed some very special tea from Peru, then later went and made a huge bonfire at the beach and said gratitude prayers to Pachamama and Others. We could see the beautiful moon and stars and it was such a lovely night. Shared the fire with some young people and enjoyed good conversation. Wonderful energies...
Thank you God for such a Blessed Earth Day 2010!
